The James family has lived in Atkinson County for six generations, and have held clean title to the land. We are a politically diverse family of strong willed and opinionated southerners. We are very hospitable, generous, tenacious - when provoked, and we consider family and friends the most important part of life. ATCO Plantation is operated by Walter James.
Southeastern Georgia Quail Hunting
ATCO Plantation wants you to experience traditional southeast Georgia quail hunting: watching a dog holding a point, approaching the unknown hiding place of bullet fast pen raised bob white quail, hearing the unnerving sound of excited bobwhite quail rushing into flight, and then watching a northern jumbo bob white quail fall from a covey after your shot. This is what quail hunting in Georgia is all about.
We provide the gun (if needed), the practice (skeet range), the quail, the dogs, the transportation during the bird hunt, the cleaning, and the refreshments.
Small Game
ATCO Plantation has squirrel hunting, rabbit hunting, duck hunting, and turkey hunting. We actively hunt small game and know right where visitors can find them. The small game are here and waiting for your next visit to ATCO Plantation.
Big Game
ATCO Plantation has Southeast Georgia deer hunting land that varies from set out pines, oak groves, scrub oak thickets, river swamp, and food plots. The deer hunting stands are ready for your next trophy deer hunting adventure!
