Owner Tim Smith has chosen to open his private plantation for your use on a reservation only basis. With new and expanded lodging facilities, SouthWind is ideal for large corporate hunts, as well as smaller groups of hunters and fishermen. SouthWind is both an Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting and Fly Fishing destination.
Southwind Plantation can arrange to pick up your group from any of the regional airports located in Tallahassee, Florida, Albany, Georgia, or Dothan, Alabama. Our airport in Bainbridge also has 5,000 and 5,500 foot lighted runways with GCO capabilities and fueling available. Our main lodge can accommodate private helicopter aircraft.

Georgia Hunting
SouthWind Plantation offers a variety of southern Georgia hunting packages and trips to discriminating sportsmen. Each hunt is customized and personalized specifically catering to your desires and needs. Each hunter must have current Georgia hunting license, except quail hunts as we have a lodge license for quail hunting.
Our bird hunting packages include quail, duck, and pheasant. Corporate and group dove hunts are also available. Trophy whitetail deer and turkey hunting trips can be scheduled during season.

Quail Hunting
f you are looking for the finest quail hunting experience, it's here in Georgia at SouthWind Plantation. SouthWind is located on thousands of acres of wiregrass, long leaf pines, live oakes, and food plots making a perfect habitat for quail. SouthWind offers true plantation horseback and mule drawn wagon hunts and quail hunting by jeep. This offers each group the option to hunt their preferred style.
SouthWind Plantation is one of only twenty four Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting Lodges in the entire world. This means that as our guest, you will experience the ultimate hunting, lodging, and cuisine all being served with a generous portion of southern hospitality.
Quail Hunting Season starts October 1st and runs through March 31st each year. Our bird hunting preserve in south Georgia provides the perfect habitat for quail. For an additional safety feature, we recommend using over and under, or side by side shotguns for quail hunting.
Deer Hunting
This is your invitation to come to SouthWind and enjoy the beauty of nature as it awakes to a beautiful sunrise that exposes the movement of your trophy buck. You may hunt with one of our fine guides from a tree stand or elect to hunt from your own stand.

Dove Hunting
Dove hunting at it's finest. Hunt dove with a large or small group over corn, milo, or peanuts. SouthWind has over 10,000 acres of farmland under contract for the exclusive use of dove hunting.
We take pride in arranging your special hunt, be it for a few friends or a party of thirty or more. We will arrange the hunt to fit your request.
To make your hunt even more enjoyable, SouthWind will provide dove blinds, stools, and iced refreshments. Turkey Hunting
SouthWind has some of the best Long Beard turkey hunting in Southwest Georgia. You may choose to hunt alone or with one of our professional guides. Either way, you will enjoy the hunt of a lifetime.
Lodging
In the heart of South Georgia, SouthWind's hunting plantation near Flint River and Lake Seminole has operated on a private hunting trip basis for several years. We can accommodate up to 25 guests in our 3 lodges. Each lodge contains 4 bedrooms with private baths in each building.
SouthWind Plantation is equipped with a computer room with internet access and satellite television. Our lodges consist of 10,000 square feet of heated space with all modern conveniences available. After a day's hunt, enjoy some relaxation time in our sunroom with plenty of room for friends and family to share stories of your adventures into the night.
