Springbank Plantation encompasses 1280 acres, which have been developed and managed, for some of the finest upland quail and pheasant hunting in the world. The hunting courses are made up of nine large areas, which include both rolling hills and flat lands and have been planted with excellent quail habitat: broomsedge, lovegrass, partridge peas, milo, and native grasses. The tall Georgian plantation pines make it challenging for hunters, as bobwhite coveys burst into the air, reminiscent of the days when wild birds were prominent in this part of the world.
To compliment your hunt, we have professional guides with custom built Jeeps and well trained dogs. We even have guns available for hunters who are not able to travel with their own.
Older guests and guests with mobility issues can also experience the thrill of bird hunting. We have custom built rangers that can be used as transportation in the field, pulling up to the pointing dog if needed, so that the hunter need only step out of the ranger to shoot.
Come join us here at Springbank Plantation and experience Southern hospitality at its best.

SPORTING CLAYS
Springbank Plantation @ Barnsley Gardens Resort is home to one of the southeast’s premier Sporting Clays facilities.
The 16 station sporting clays course is located on the 1500 acre resort less than 5 miles from the hunting preserve. So, it is a fantastic way to warm up for your hunt or extend your day of shooting.
If you are just starting your shooting career or have years of experience our course has target settings that will appeal to you. The course boasts a diverse layout of shots in open field, in the woods, as well as shots over two reclaimed bauxite mine ponds. These numerous settings allow us to set targets representing various game birds in a realistic setting and to test each shooter’s ability to the fullest.
As the summer warms things up we have the comfort of shooting in the woods under the natural canopy.
In addition to our sporting clays course, we have a covered 5-stand layout that over looks a large bauxite mine pond. Our 5-stand allows shooting in all weather conditions as the shooters are always under the protection of the covered area.
We offer shotgun shooting instruction by the hour and in half day sessions. Or you can and attend one of our one or two day Caesar Guerini Wings & Clays Schools.
Our professional staff will guide you and cater to your shooting needs.
Sporting Clays can be shot in rounds of 50 targets or 100 targets. A round of 5-stand is 25 targets.
We are an authorized dealer for Caesar Guerini Shotguns and have rental guns available as well as ammunition for purchase at our Outpost Sporting Center.

CEASAR GUERINI WING AND CLAY SCHOOLS
Springbank Plantation @ Barnsley Gardens Resort is the proud home of the newly formed Caesar Guerini Wings & Clays School.
Caesar Guerini is a leading manufacture of Italian made over and under shotguns and they have partnered with Barnsley Gardens Resort to bring to you a world class shotgun school.
The school format is based around either one or two day sessions depending on your schedule and shooting needs. We cater to all experience levels, from the first time shot-gunner to the experienced upland hunter and clay target enthusiast.
Every sport has a learning curve and the sooner you learn the fundamentals and basics related to that sport the quicker you will experience success. We believe in teaching the fundamentals and basics of shotgun shooting in a relaxed setting at your learning pace.
There are many different shooting methods one can apply to breaking a target or shooting upland birds. We believe in teaching an instinctive approach to shot-gunning, one that will allow each student to develop his own natural style as he learns and practices the fundamentals.
Our staff of NSCA (National Sporting Clays Association) certified instructors will tailor their teaching style to your needs. Our student to instructor ratio is 4:1 so that we can give each student that personal time needed to improve.
Our Chief Instructor, Skip Smith, is an NSCA Level III instructor and has been teaching professionally for over 15 years. Skip and his staff will do their best to put you in a group of like ability shooters so that everyone can progress at an even pace.
Each school day starts off at 9:30 AM and ends around 4 PM with lunch at the Woodlands Grill.
The first morning will include a short classroom session before moving to the Shooting Grounds for instruction. We will have Caesar Guerini shotguns available for those students who do not have a gun or would like to shoot one of our guns. These shotguns are available in either 12 gauge, 20 gauge or 28 gauge in various lengths of pull so that everyone can use a gun that is comfortable to shoot. You are more than welcome to bring your own gun if you prefer.
On the second afternoon of our two day school we will take the instruction out onto our 16 station sporting clays course and expand the target presentations to our students. During the hunting season (October 1 through March 31) we can offer a half-day quail hunt at Springbank Plantation on that second afternoon if you are interested in experiencing an upland hunt (there is an additional charge for the quail hunt).
Pricing: One day schools are $575 per student; Two day schools are $1150 per student. School pricing includes gun rental, ammunition, targets, instruction, and lunch each day.
